Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari’s brother, Afzal Ansari, claimed on Friday that his brother was poisoned to death to protect some criminals. He also suggested that the government conspired to murder his brother.
Ghazipur: Last rites of Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari were performed Kalibagh cemetery in his native Ghazipur on Friday. Reacting to his brother’s demise, Afzal Ansari alleged that ‘he was killed and taken out of the way.’ Claiming to have ‘strong evidence,’ he stated that Ansari was poisoned. Afzal Ansari further asserted that the government conspired to murder his brother to protect some criminals. The 63-year-old gangster-turned-politician suffered a massive heart attack and passed away during treatment at Banda Medical College on the night of March 28. Ansari’s body was brought to his hometown, Gazipur, on Friday after completion of the autopsy at Banda Medical Hospital.
“Mukhtar Ansari has been killed and removed out of the way. When the time comes, we will give strong proof that he was killed with poison… To save some criminals, the whole government and its machinery have done a huge conspiracy. They have no shame… On March 26, Mukhtar Ansari was sent to the Medical College from the Banda jail… The Superintendent said that he was sent because the doctors suggested that… We received a message at 3 am that Mukhtar Ansari’s condition is serious… When we reached the hospital, we were allowed to meet with difficulty, only for 5 minutes… During the 5-minute meeting, Mukhtar Ansari said that he had been poisoned and because of that he had fainted. He said that he was in extreme pain. He said that he had fainted and shifted to the hospital in that condition..,” ANI quoted Afzal Ansari as saying.
